We have received some reports of problems with installing Slime Rancher, or that there is an update pending which will not complete. We are not aware of any changes on our side and suggest that people experiencing these issues reach out to Steam’s Support for more help, and to make sure they are aware of this. It’s our understanding that these issues are also occurring for some of their other titles.

Specifically, what has been reported is that Slime Rancher will not install, giving “Internet connection not available” and/or “Content configuration unavailable” messages.
Some may also get a 0 MB update that will not complete.
One workaround that seems to work is deleting the appmanifest_433340.acf file and restarting Steam. This file is used by Steam to track the installation status of Slime Rancher, and deleting it will allow Steam to recreate the file during reinstallation. To do this:
- Open your Steam Library and find Slime Rancher
- Right click on it and select Manage > Browse local files
- In the Address bar select the “steamapps” folder to navigate there
- Delete the appmanifest_433340.acf file and then restart Steam
- Attempt to redownload the game to the same location
